If I was talking to my mom she would be able to hear me smiling.

I had a great day. Josh got home early from work after having accomplished a bunch of items on our ever expanding to do list. We were able to start registering our car, start the process of leasing our apartment, and get out for some fun. We ran all over town and after finishing all of our errands decided to treat ourselves to dinner.
I have read many people's accounts of their meals at Coco's Ichibanya curry house. It is absolutely raved about for some reason. I'll admit I wasn't going in with high hopes. The smell of curry makes my head hurt, and it stays in your nose forever. The consolation here is that this is Japanese curry which is supposed to be less intensely fragrant and a bit sweeter.

When we walked in we were greeted very enthusiastically. It was kind of like when you walk into a Coldstone creamery, except the Japanese probably aren't stoned. At least I don't think so.
Moving on....
When you get to your table there are pitchers of ice water waiting for you and menus to peruse. You first pick your type of curry sauce, your level of spice, and then whatever you want to add to it, meat/veggies, etc. Once you know what you want you push a little button the table and a waiter showed up at light speed.
We ordered a potato hurricane as an appetizer. It was delicious.
Thomas got the chicken curry kid's meal. They really treat children well here in Japan. It seems the culture views children as precious treasures, just as they should be viewed I think. He had his own little cup and child utensils. His true love though was that smiley face guy and the little jello shots.

Josh ordered hash curry with a chicken cutlet, spice level 1. This was delicious. I was jealous. He always orders better than I do though and luckily he let me have a few bites. It's just the kinda guy I married.

I wasn't quite as happy with my dinner. I'm branching out. So I ordered the cuttlefish curry with regular spice. As it turns out regular spice was boring, and cuttlefish really isn't my bag.
Here is a picture of Thomas digging into his dinner. Josh and I had switched seats at this point because I was wearing white and T was covered in curry. When we left he even had curry on his forehead. I'd call it a successful dinner.

When we finished our meal we weren't quite ready to go home yet so we headed to American town. I think that's funny.
We headed into Jusco, which research had told me was like a Super walmart on crack. This description held true.

Thomas wasn't so sure about the place. Or about holding hands in parking lots. Tough luck dude.

But then he saw this. It was like 10 Chuck E Cheese's put together. Absolutely huge.

Then I spotted this HUGE tetris game. Do you see the size of the controllers? I think it's going to be my mom's christmas present this year. How much do you think that thing is??? Shipping won't be bad at all.

That was only one tiny corner of the place. They had EVERYTHING there. Josh wouldn't let me buy T little kimono pajamas. He's mean. I will buy them eventually. And then I will take massive amounts of pictures.

In case you wanted a decorative surgical mask....here you go.

The insanity that was Jusco was making Thomas rather insane as well. So we headed out of there in search of some ice cream. We had collective curry mouth and needed to balance it out.

Right near the ferris wheel we spotted Yogurtland. I realize this is American, but neither one of us has ever tried it so we figured it fit in the trying new things category. The baskin robbins downstairs was denied though.

Isn't he cute?

Josh's is on the left. He got okinawan lemon tart/strawberry/raspberry pomegranite with gummys. I got vanilla wafer/pistachio yogurt with some sort of cookie. It said bourbon on it. I have no idea why.
This is my "Hey pistachio ice cream is pretty damn good" face.

And then we finally went home. It's getting very difficult to wrangle in the boy and he was running around like a banshee who had no idea what the words stop, wait, hold my hand, or stay with me meant. I'm beginning to have empathy for the people who leash their kids. But any frustration went away when we got home and saw these clouds. This is an incredibly beautiful island. I'm so lucky to be here.
